Crab Malai Curry | Kakra Malai Kari

How to cook Crab Malai Curry / Kakra Malai Kari

Preparation for Crab

  1. First wash the crab with warm water.
  2. Cut the crab into small pieces. 
  3. Wash 2nd time and mixed with salt.

Ingredients:

  • Turmeric powder - ½ Tbsp
  • Garlic paste – 1 Tbsp
  • Ginger - Cumin/Jeera paste & Green chilli - 2 Pics (mixture)
  • Onion paste - 1 Cup
  • Tomato puree - 1 Cup
  • Black pepper powder - 1 Tbsp
  • Milk - 1 Cup
  • Garam masala dust
  • Ghee
  • Cornflower
  • Mustard oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Mustard oil
  • Salt to taste

How to proceed: 

  • Place crab in a bowl. Sprinkle on the salt, turmeric and mix well.
  • Heat 1 cup mustard oil in a non-stick pan. Once hot, add the crab and cook on medium heat for 2 minutes. Turn the crab over and cook for a further 2 minutes. The crab should be golden brown. Remove from the pan.
  • Heat the mustard oil in the previously used pan. Once hot, add the garam masala, garlic paste.
  • When these whole spices begin to splatter, add the ginger - cumin/jeera paste & green chilli - 2 Pics (mixture), onion paste and ½ tsp salt, turmeric powder. Cook for few minute until translucent. Now add the tomato puree and cook for a further 2-3 minutes until golden brown.
  • Add ½ tbsp black pepper powder, Add this paste to the pan along with mix well.
  • Now add the crab and mix well. 
  • Add one cup of water, and cover the pan in median heat. 
  • Take a cup. add milk with  ½ tbsp cornflower, ½ tbsp garam masala.
  • Now add the milk mixture and ½ tbsp Ghee. Bring to boil and then immediately reduce the heat and simmer for 3-4 minutes or until it is thick enough to cover the back of a spoon. Check for salt, sugar, chilli and adjust accordingly.
  • Allow to simmer for a further 3-4 minutes and turn off the heat.
  • Serve lunch or dinner.
